If the Inquisitor chooses to investigate the situation, they discover that spirits have come forth to possess the corpses of those that have fallen, while deserters have formed into a group known as the Freemen of the Dales and harass both sides of the war. The Inquisitor can gain access to the Plains by completing the Investigate the Exalted Plains war table scouting operation in Skyhold. The Inquisition can investigate the breakdown in communications to provide stability to the region. After both armies retreat to their camps, Val Royeaux loses all contact. After the elves' defeat and the dissolution of their kingdom, Ville Montevelan became the first human settlement in the Dales, presided over by Revered Mother Amity, Champion of the Exalted March. The champions' cause was just, and their faith led them to victory. A supply cache is located in the Chamber of the Oracle.It was here, centuries ago, that the Dalish kingdom met its bitter end, the holdouts of the elven army making their last stand, refusing to surrender against the champions of Andraste: the templar, the sister, and the nobleman patron.The Chamber of the Oracle is the locked room adjacent to The Sanctuary, it can only be accessed after defeating the Highest One. ![]() Despite being called the Lost Temple of Dirthamen, there are multiple murals depicting Falon'Din.Though not required to complete the quest, a rogue is needed to access some loot stashes.If one doesn't have a warrior in the party and chooses to leave and come back with one, all the Arcane horrors and Corpses will respawn. The final veilfire rune can only be accessed using a warrior.
